So what do you do
You leave your town and document the places you see and the people you meet. The game takes place in a world that logs time in "seasons", which can be manually or forcefully ended to start a new season (they're kind of like eras, I guess). You do this by riding your bike to get around, taking pictures and recording sounds and recording them into your journal.
All new locations you enter get a spread in your journal and you can decide what goes onto the pages. I journal in real life so I really loved this aspect of the game. You're in control of what the protag passes on in her journal and you can spend as much or as little time on the pages as you want.
The main character (I think her namme is Estelle, but it's never said and she's listed in the credits as 'protagonist') is into poetry, and her dad was a poet, so her way of speaking can get very... flowery. It's the one thing I didn't like about the game personally, sometimes the dialogue got way too verbose for me
The world the game takes place in is very interesting, and you only get a small window into its inner workings during the game. I thought that was really interesting and I personally really liked it. The main mechanics also feel really good; riding around on your bike and taking pictures especially feel really organic.
When should I play this game?
Spend some time on Season if:- You love narrative driven games
- You want to explore a small slice of a world unknown but familiar
- You like being able to go through a game at your own pace
